h-alpha

I assembled a bundle of two telescopes (Celestron 102 SLT + Coronado PST H-alpha 40 mm) for capturing the sun. The detailing of the chromosphere has noticeably improved, but the field of view has decreased. However, this is quite enough for detailed capturing of the sun. The seeing was good.

Today I successfully captured the Sun – through a chromospheric telescope, and through an ordinary telescope with an wideband aperture filter. There was a faint haze over the city, but it even helped – the earth’s surface was less heated. Interestingly, the spot AR 2738 made a full turn and returned under the name AR 2740. In fact, this spot has existed since March (AR 2736), that is, for several months already. I have never seen such long-lived spots.

Already the second day has no luck with shooting the Sun – solid clouds. For a minute I managed to catch the sun in a hole between the clouds. The spot AR 2738 is large, interesting, with a complex structure.
