This capturing was carried out purely for the sake of testing the filter Svbony CLS – it was interesting how this filter can improve the selection of nebulae from the background of the city illumination. The filter works quite well, however, when shooting with a Samyang 1352.0 ED lens, there are noticeable red halos. The filter itself has a noticeable gap between the red and green rays. In addition, the camera with the removed “blue glass”, so the halos are more noticeable than on the camera without modification. We have to pay particular attention to the red channel during processing. On a mirror optics, as well as lenses with good chromatic correction, such halos should not arise.

Single frame example:

Без фильтра, выдержка 30с, ISO 800
No filter, 30s exp, ISO 800

С фильтром Svbony CLS, выдержка 30с, ISO 800
Svbony CLS, 30s exp, ISO 800

I would also like to add that because of the failure between red and green, difficulties arise in setting the white balance, however, processing can “equalize” color channels successfully. It is better this way than frames with light pollution.

CLS-filter for Canon APS-C cameras can be purchased in the office. Svbony Store on Aliexpress at link.
